Job Title: Quality Auditor

Job Description

This role leads a comprehensive gap assessment and self-audit program to prepare personnel, processes, and documentation to meet NADCAP audit criteria and achieve accreditation. The position supports internal audit execution, strengthens quality control practices, and ensures alignment with AS9100 / AS9110, FAA Part 145, and NADCAP requirements in a repair station environment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive gap assessments and self-audits to evaluate current practices against NADCAP criteria and accreditation requirements.
  • Plan and execute internal audits aligned with AS9100 / AS9110 standards, FAA Part 145 requirements, and NADCAP criteria.
  • Collect objective evidence through document review, personnel interviews, and shop floor observation to verify compliance and effectiveness.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of processes, using PEAR methodology where applicable, and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the development and refinement of audit checklists to ensure alignment with regulatory, customer, and NADCAP requirements.
  • Translate audit findings into clear problem statements and provide inputs to support root cause analysis with internal teams.
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of corrective actions to address audit findings and process gaps.
  • Track the closure of findings and verify the effectiveness of corrective actions prior to formal audits.
  • Review and prepare procedures, work instructions, forms, and related quality documentation to ensure audit readiness.
  • Verify that training records, competency records, calibration records, NDT records, and special process records are complete, accurate, and up to date.
  • Ensure documentation matches actual practices, is properly controlled, current, and easily accessible for audit traceability.
  • Support preparation of pre-audit documentation packages and ensure electronic audit evidence is ready for eAuditNet submission.
  • Train and coach internal teams on NADCAP audit expectations, interview readiness, and effective document presentation and traceability.
  • Conduct mock audits and audit simulations to build confidence and readiness across the organization.
  • Prepare leadership and subject matter experts for interactions with external auditors, including anticipated questions and expectations.
  • Provide on-site or remote support during NADCAP audits as needed, assisting with auditor requests and facilitating timely document retrieval.
  • Support daily audit debriefs during external audits to ensure clear communication of findings and next steps.

Essential Skills

  • At least 3 years of internal auditing experience in a quality-focused environment.
  • Hands-on experience with NADCAP or AS9100 auditing, preferably within a repair station or similar regulated setting.
  • Proven ability to plan and conduct internal audits aligned with AS9100 / AS9110, FAA Part 145, and NADCAP criteria.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control principles and audit methodologies, including evidence collection and process evaluation.
  • Ability to translate audit findings into clear problem statements and support root cause analysis and corrective action development.
  • Experience reviewing and preparing procedures, work instructions, forms, training records, and competency documentation for audit readiness.
  • Familiarity with calibration, NDT, and special process records and their role in compliance and accreditation.
  • Skill in training and coaching teams on audit expectations, interview readiness, and documentation traceability.
  • Capability to support pre-audit documentation packages and electronic audit evidence preparation for systems such as eAuditNet.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with leadership, subject matter experts, and auditors.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in a repair station environment or similar regulated aerospace setting.
  • Exposure to PEAR methodology for process effectiveness evaluation.
  • Experience conducting mock audits and audit simulations to prepare teams for external assessments.
  • Ability to provide on-site or remote support during external audits, including managing auditor requests and daily debriefs.
