Job Title: Safety Advisor
Job Description

The Safety Specialist is responsible for overseeing and enforcing all safety measures on an active construction project. The role involves inspecting work areas, materials, equipment, and employee work habits to ensure compliance with OSHA regulatory guidelines and company procedures. The Safety Specialist is tasked with making changes to improve workplace safety, ensuring adherence to safety policies, providing safety expertise, and supporting safety programs related to employee, client, and facility safety.

Responsibilities

  • Stay current on state and federal occupational safety regulations, including OSHA 29 CFR 1020 and 1926, and apply expertise on job sites.
  • Identify and mitigate workplace health and safety hazards.
  • Support project teams with safe work processes such as JSAs, THAs, and Safe Work Procedures.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures at job sites.
  • Respond quickly and efficiently to emergency situations.
  • Maintain safety documentation and records.
  • Monitor and investigate near-miss incidents.
  • Conduct internal and customer-site safety audits/inspections and participate in incident investigations.
  • Collaborate with the Safety Manager and leadership to analyze trends and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead and organize on-site safety meetings and ensure personnel compliance.
  • Provide safety expertise to employees, subcontractors, and clients throughout projects.
  • Serve as the primary contact for risk and safety program administration.
  • Assist in executing the overall risk and safety strategy.
  • Pursue ongoing professional safety training and education.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in safety regulations, including OSHA standards.
  • Construction safety experience.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to enforce safety policies and procedures effectively.
  • Experience in incident investigation and safety audits.
  • Capability to respond to emergencies and provide safety expertise.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • OSHA 30 certification is required.
  • OSHA 500 and 501 certifications preferred.
  • OSHA 511 certification preferred.
  • Construction field experience is preferred.
  • Interest in continuing education in the safety-related field.
  • Ability to train and coach employees on safety practices.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $72800.00 - $72800.00/yr.
