Special Education Teacher (Elementary, Grades 3–4) – Central Falls, RI
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year in Central Falls, Rhode Island. This is a full-time opportunity supporting a small, structured classroom serving students with developmental disabilities.

Job Overview

  • Position: Special Education Teacher
  • Location: Central Falls, RI
  • Schedule: 37.5 hours per week
  • School Year: 2026–2027
  • Setting: 1 school site, elementary level

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide individualized instruction to elementary students (grades 3–4) with developmental disabilities
  • Manage a small classroom (fewer than 8 students) in a low student-to-staff ratio (1:3)
  • Collaborate with teaching assistants and support staff to deliver effective instruction
  • Develop and implement IEPs (Individualized Education Programs)
  • Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies for mild to moderate and/or severe disabilities
  • Track student progress and maintain accurate documentation
  • Foster a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment

Classroom & Support Details

  • Small caseload with individualized attention
  • Strong paraprofessional/TA support in the classroom
  • Ongoing professional development and training provided during the school year
  • Collaborative team environment

Qualifications

  • Active Rhode Island Special Education license required
  • Certification for mild-moderate or severe disabilities (MA or RI accepted)
  • Experience working with students with developmental disabilities preferred
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills
