Job Title: CNC Machinist
Job Description
Join a precision-focused manufacturing team as a CNC Machinist responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC machines to produce high-quality parts and components. You will work from technical drawings and specifications, ensure parts meet exacting standards, and support continuous improvement in a climate-controlled machine shop.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC machines, including mills and lathes, to produce high-quality parts according to specifications.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models to determine machining requirements and proper setups.
- Select and install appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machine settings for each job to achieve optimal results.
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to verify accuracy and quality.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting on CNC equipment to minimize downtime and maintain reliability.
- Adjust machine settings, offsets, and tooling as needed to optimize performance, cycle times, and part quality.
- Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and quality control teams to resolve machining issues and improve processes.
- Document machine setups, tooling, and machining parameters to ensure repeatability and effective process control.
- Follow all safety procedures and quality standards throughout the machining process to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives focused on machining efficiency, workflow, and overall productivity.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience setting up and operating CNC mills and CNC lathes in a production or job-shop environment.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD models.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments, including calipers, micrometers, and gauges, to verify part dimensions.
- Solid understanding of machining processes and CNC machining principles.
- Ability to perform basic CNC troubleshooting and routine machine maintenance.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality parts.
- Ability to document setups, tooling, and machining parameters clearly and accurately.
- Strong focus on safety and adherence to established quality standards.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working with Haas and Mazak CNC machines.
- Background in CNC programming or editing programs at the machine is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Doosan Puma machines and similar CNC equipment.
- Experience working in a climate-controlled machine shop environment.
- Comfort working collaboratively with engineering, programming, and quality teams.
- Ability to adapt to different jobs, materials, and setups in a job-shop style environment.

Work Environment
Work in a climate-controlled machine shop equipped with modern CNC machines, including Doosan Puma models and other advanced equipment. The standard schedule is first shift, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with openness to alternative schedules such as four 10-hour shifts where feasible. The environment is that of a family-owned shop, with a focus on safety, quality, and teamwork, and uses technologies consistent with CNC mills, CNC lathes, and related precision machining equipment
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wagoner, OK.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
