American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position at a Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Illinois, requiring at least 1 year of med/surg or telemetry experience on a weekend night block schedule.

  • Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a 97-bed Magnet-designated acute care hospital
  • \n
  • Weekend night block schedule: Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 12-hour night shifts (1845–0715)
  • \n
  • Patient ratios of 1:4–5
  • \n
  • Charting via Epic (experience required)
  • \n
  • Floating may be required between two campuses (Belleville and Shiloh) as well as within the facility
  • \n
  • No on-call requirements
  • \n
Requirements\n
    \n
  • Active IL RN license required; pending IL license is not accepted for this position
  • \n
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
  • \n
  • Minimum 1 year of med/surg, cardiac, or telemetry nursing experience required
  • \n
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • \n

  • Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are subject to a local pay rate
  • \n
  • RTO is limited to no more than 7 days per 13-week contract; no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation

  • Navy scrubs required

  • Free parking on-site
  • \n
  • Travelers may remain at BJC facilities for up to 18 months, after which a 3-month break in service is required
  • \n
  • Former permanent employees of any BJC facility must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
