Job Description
General Ultrasound Technologist to perform a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound examinations while ensuring high-quality patient care and imaging. The technologist will conduct routine and specialized sonographic procedures, assist with ultrasound-guided interventions, maintain accurate documentation, coordinate patient scheduling, and participate in on-call coverage as required.
Schedule
- 13-week assignment
- Day shifts
- Weekend and holiday on-call coverage (7:00 AM – 9:00 PM)
- No weekday night or overnight call
- No guaranteed hours
- Overtime after 40 hours per week

- Active State of Maine Ultrasound license
- ARDMS (AB) registration required
- Current BLS certification
- Minimum 3 years of General Ultrasound experience
- Graduate of an accredited ARDMS school of sonography
- Associate degree preferred
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius
- Candidates with licensure disciplinary history will not be considered
Responsibilities
- Perform general diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including:
- Abdomen
- OB/GYN
- Small Parts
- Perform ultrasound-guided procedures and provide procedural assistance
- Evaluate image quality and recognize normal and pathological findings
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain ultrasound equipment
- Document exams and maintain accurate electronic medical records
- Coordinate scheduling, review physician orders, and verify patient information
- Process imaging documentation, orders, and charges
- Communicate effectively with radiologists, providers, and the healthcare team
- Educate patients and ensure safety and comfort throughout procedures
- Participate in emergency on-call coverage as required
