Medical Assistant

The Medical Assistant will support a medium-sized outpatient clinic team by performing essential clinical and administrative duties. Reporting to the Office Manager, this role ensures efficient patient flow and accurate documentation to help deliver high-quality patient care.

13 Week Contract with the option to extend

Hours: 8 am - 5 pm

Clinic Type: Specialty

Charting: Epic - required

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examinations and procedures
• Measure and record vital signs accurately
• Maintain and update medical records in compliance with regulations
• Assist with medication administration and patient instruction
• Schedule patient appointments and manage calendar coordination
• Communicate effectively with patients to address inquiries and concerns
• Provide administrative support including insurance verification
• Ensure adherence to healthcare privacy standards

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years of experience in medical assisting
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential preferred
• Proficient in patient scheduling and medical terminology
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
• Knowledge of medication administration and vital signs measurement
• Understanding of HIPAA compliance requirements
• Strong communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
