Job DescriptionCompany Description
The Cardiac Sonographer plays a critical role within a large multidisciplinary team, performing routine diagnostic echocardiogram scans to assist in the evaluation of cardiac function. Reporting to the Head Sonographer and Cardiologist, the role involves patient preparation, image acquisition, and analysis alongside collaborative interpretation and report generation. This position demands technical expertise, attention to detail, and strong communication to support quality cardiac care.
13 Week Contract with the option to extend
Hours: Day 4x10-Hour (07:00 - 17:00)
Responsibilities
- Perform routine diagnostic echocardiogram imaging
- Prepare patients for cardiac ultrasound procedures
- Analyze cardiac images for accurate diagnostic information
- Generate detailed reports for physician review
- Maintain and calibrate ultrasound equipment
- Interact sensitively and professionally with patients
- Document data and maintain patient records accurately
- Collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare team members
- Ensure adherence to quality assurance protocols
- Comply with all safety and regulatory standards
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years experience in cardiac sonography
- Associate degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography
- ARDMS Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) certification
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Knowledge of echocardiography and cardiac anatomy and physiology
- Proficiency in ultrasound equipment operation
- Strong patient care and medical terminology skills
- Exceptional attention to detail and communication abilities
- Effective time management skills
