Job Description
The Assembler plays a key role in building premium windows and doors from start to finish, ensuring each product meets strict quality standards. This position involves reading and following production lists and work instructions, selecting the correct materials, and using a variety of hand and power tools throughout the assembly process. You will collaborate closely with your team, help identify shortages or quality issues, and inspect each phase of assembly to maintain consistent, high-quality output.
Responsibilities
- Perform window and door assembly operations from start to finish, following standard work, control plans, and written work instructions.
- Read and follow production lists to organize tasks, materials, and workflow for each product.
- Identify and select proper materials required for each assembly, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Inspect each phase of the assembly process to assure product quality and adherence to specifications.
- Advise team members and leadership of any material shortages, quality issues, or process concerns that may impact production.
- Use drills, screw guns, nail and staple guns, chop saws, routers, sanders, and other hand and power tools safely and effectively as part of the assembly process.
- Measure components accurately using a tape measure and verify dimensions against production requirements.
- Follow all safety guidelines while working with tools, equipment, and materials, including proper lifting techniques for items up to and over 50 pounds.
- Contribute to a clean, organized work area to support efficient production and safe operations.
- Collaborate with coworkers and support team efforts to meet production goals and maintain high quality standards.
Essential Skills
- High School Diploma, GED, or HSED.
- Basic reading skills to understand production lists, control plans, and written work instructions.
- Basic math skills to perform measurements and simple calculations related to assembly tasks.
- Ability to accurately read and use a tape measure.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools, including drills, screw guns, nail and staple guns, chop saws, routers, and sanders.
- Capability to perform general labor and production work in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds safely and repeatedly during the shift.
- Comfort working in a construction-like, mechanical assembly setting.
- Attention to detail and strong focus on product quality throughout each phase of assembly.
- Reliability and ability to follow established processes, standard work, and safety procedures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in assembly, production, or general labor in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in construction, mechanical assembly, or related trades.
- Familiarity with blueprints or basic product diagrams.
- Comfort using a variety of hand tools and power tools for extended periods.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume production setting.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills to coordinate with coworkers and share information about materials and quality.
- Willingness to learn new processes and cross-train in different assembly functions to support career growth and development.

Work Environment
This role is based in a manufacturing facility that produces premium e-series windows sold directly to dealers and homeowners. The site employs approximately 600 people and operates on two primary shifts: first shift runs Monday through Thursday from 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and second shift runs Monday through Thursday from 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. The facility may also schedule work on Fridays as a half day or full day, with scheduling communicated early in the week. Each shift includes two twelve-minute breaks and one thirty-minute lunch break. The environment is not air conditioned, so it can become hot, and the dress code is flexible to accommodate this: steel-toed shoes are required, and clothing such as shorts and t-shirts is allowed as long as it is appropriate and does not include offensive content. Candidates with long hair must wear it secured in a ponytail or bun for safety. The work involves standing, moving materials, and using various hand and power tools throughout the shift in a busy, production-focused setting.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.20 - $22.20/hr.
