Physician - Medical Oncology

Job Details:

• See 20-25 patients per day in a hospital inpatient service setting


• Handle malignant and benign oncology cases, including inpatient malignant medical oncology patients and all ranges of hematology consults


• Lead the medical oncology team, supervising Advanced Practice Providers and seeing all new consults


• Support staff includes 1 APP Monday through Friday and 1 APP on weekends to assist with rounding on the busier service


• Inpatient call expectations include 8-10 hour days with overnight call handled from home for medical oncology-specific calls only, scheduled one week at a time (Monday 8:00 AM to following Monday 8:00 AM), with flexible scheduling


• Outpatient coverage includes hematology and medical oncology with an 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM schedule and no call requirements; overnight call from home is an option to assist with coverage


• Same-day documentation is expected for inpatient service; outpatient documentation is expected same day with a maximum of 3 days


• Nurse triage service and hospitalist are available; number of calls is minimal


• Board Certifications in Oncology and Hematology are required


• Minimum 2 years of experience required


• Epic charting system experience required


• Certifications required: BLS or ACLS


• Patient age groups served: Adults and Geriatrics


• Daily census: 30-40 patients; facility has 590 beds


• MN License or IMLC only
