Sterling Personnel is recruiting for a Registration Scheduler for our clients in El Paso, Tx.  The Register Scheduler facilitates the patient flow at a clinic providing services necessary to schedule, register, and greet patients. Schedules patients for consultation, procedures and/or tests as needed. This is a great opportunity for someone who has experience in a medical office setting and possesses strong administrative and communication skills.

Daily schedule can be Monday – Saturday, 7:00am – 6:00pm. Must be willing to travel to different work locations as needed. Hourly pay rate is $18.98

Responsibilities:

  • Greets patients and/or other parties upon their arrival, distributes patient information, escorts patients and/or family members to respective patient service areas.
  • Collaborate with the Clinical Supervisor to determine appropriate scheduling of emergent and urgent patients.
  • Processes appointment confirmation letters and/or reminder telephone calls that are cued through the scheduling system.
  • Interviews, collects and enters demographic, insurance information, financial information and/or any other related data required data into designated database with accuracy to ensure appropriate charges for services rendered. Completes necessary documentation during scheduling /registration process emphasizing completeness’ and accuracy.
  • Schedules appointments for new and recurring patient visits.
  • Verifies insurance information through electronic insurance verification system; may contact insurance payor for eligibility and benefits and documents related activity or results in designated database.
  • Determines patient and payer financial responsibilities at time of service. Collects co-pays and other charges prior to delivery of service and applies hospital policies regarding financial services.
  • Manage scheduling system worklists within designated timeframes. Notifies appropriate personnel of pending schedule changes/disruptions.
  • Accepts physician orders for therapy and diagnostic testing. Informs physicians and/or clinical staff of managed care requirements. Obtains required insurance authorizations to secure the patient account.
  • Promotes Customer Service orientation in the performance of position duties and responsibilities and in interactions with patients, hospital staff and visitors,
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • One year of experience in scheduling or patient access in a hospital or clinic setting required. 

License/Registration/Certifications:

  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) preferred.
