Director of Field Operations
Location: Springfield, Missouri
Position Type: Full-Time | In-Office
A well-established commercial and civil construction firm is seeking a Director of Field
Operations to provide leadership and oversight for field operations across multiple construction
projects. This is a senior leadership position responsible for ensuring projects are completed
safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards while developing and
supporting field personnel.
The ideal candidate is a proven construction leader with extensive experience managing
superintendents, coordinating multiple projects simultaneously, and driving operational
excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
● Provide leadership and oversight for all field operations across commercial and civil
construction projects.
● Supervise, mentor, and develop superintendents, foremen, and field personnel.
● Ensure projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company
standards.
● Partner with project managers to develop project schedules, manpower plans, and
construction strategies.
● Monitor productivity, quality control, and project performance across multiple active
jobsites.
● Conduct regular jobsite visits to ensure compliance with safety regulations, contract
requirements, and company expectations.
● Assist with workforce planning, staffing, hiring, onboarding, and performance
management of field personnel.
● Collaborate with estimating and preconstruction teams during project planning and
turnover.
● Identify operational improvements that enhance efficiency, profitability, and client
satisfaction.
● Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, subcontractors, vendors, architects,
engineers, and inspectors.
● Promote a culture centered on safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous
improvement.
Qualifications:
● Minimum 10 years of commercial and/or civil construction experience, including
progressive leadership responsibilities.
● Previous experience managing multiple superintendents, project teams, or field
operations.
● Strong understanding of commercial and civil construction means and methods.
● Experience with scheduling, manpower planning, budgeting, and resource allocation.
● Thorough knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and construction best practices.
● Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
● Ability to effectively prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
● Valid driver's license and ability to travel to regional jobsites as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field
preferred, but equivalent industry experience will be considered.
● OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
● Experience with project management and scheduling software is a plus.

Work Environment:
