Medical Registration Specialist

This opportunity is a 75-90-day contract position working in a beautiful clinic.

Monday- Friday, 9:00AM - 5:00PM.

This position will start work around July 13.

Accountabilities / Responsibilities

The Medical Registration Specialist registers surgery patients and processes and organizes their medical records into our EMR system. The Medical Registration Specialist ensures completeness of the medical record by auditing charts in real time and completing a medical records checklist. the Medical Registration Specialist updates demographics, scans insurance cards and identification cards and handles the storage and retention of the updated charts. This role requires patient phone interaction and good customer service principles and a friendly and professional communication style.

· Chart Completion

· Updating all demographics

· Addressing Medical Record Requests

· Verifying insurance as needed

· Filing

· Record Storage and Retention

· Performing other duties as required.

Qualifications

· High school diploma or equivalent

·· Two or three years of experience in a medical office, hospital, outpatient surgery center or related field

· Computer experience, Excel, Word, Medical Billing Software and Applications

· Working knowledge of Medical Terminology
