Civil Engineer – Land Development
Location: Springfield, Missouri
Schedule: Full-Time | In-Office
Our client is seeking an experienced Civil Engineer to join its growing team in Springfield,
Missouri. This position offers the opportunity to work on a variety of land development projects
from concept through construction while collaborating with a team dedicated to delivering
high-quality engineering solutions.
The ideal candidate will have experience in land development design, stormwater management,
drainage analysis, utility design, and permitting. This role is best suited for an engineer who
enjoys solving complex problems, working directly with clients, and seeing projects through
every phase of development.
Responsibilities:
● Prepare civil engineering plans for commercial, residential, and municipal land
development projects.
● Design grading, drainage, stormwater management, water distribution, sanitary sewer,
and utility systems.
● Perform hydrologic and hydraulic calculations.
● Coordinate with project managers, surveyors, architects, developers, municipalities, and
regulatory agencies.
● Prepare technical reports, specifications, construction documents, and permit
applications.
● Review plans for compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
● Assist with project budgeting, scheduling, and client communication.
● Conduct occasional site visits and construction observations as needed.
Qualifications
● Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
● Minimum 5-7 years of experience in civil engineering with an emphasis on land
development.
● Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. Candidates actively pursuing licensure
are encouraged to apply.
● Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
● Experience with drainage and stormwater design.
● Knowledge of Missouri design standards and permitting processes is preferred.
● Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
● Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines while working collaboratively with a
team.
