Environmental Health Safety Specialist

The Environmental Health Safety Specialist plays a critical role within the Internal Team, reporting directly to the General Manager. This position involves both developing new safety initiatives and maintaining existing programs to ensure regulatory compliance and promote a safe workplace. Frequent travel to multiple sites is required to conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, and safety training, supporting the organization’s commitment to environmental health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Conduct risk assessments to identify potential safety and environmental hazards
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other relevant regulations
• Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
• Deliver safety training programs to employees across multiple sites
• Perform environmental monitoring and prepare detailed reports
• Coordinate internal and external safety audits
• Identify hazards and recommend mitigation strategies

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in environmental health and safety

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health, or a related field
• Experience with environmental compliance and risk assessment
• Strong knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulatory standards
• Proven ability to deliver effective safety training
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail
