Patent Litigation Attorney
Established (100+ Years) Premier Firm Seeking IP Litigation Associate for IP Litigation in Palo Alto, California
 
An established firm based in Palo Alto, California with over 100+ years in practice is seeking an IP Litigation Associate with 2+ years of experience to join their team. This role focuses on patent litigation in U.S. District Court and before the PTAB, including post grant proceedings, claim construction, discovery, and trial preparation, representing leading technology clients in complex, high stakes matters.

Salary range: $235,000-$390,000+ contingent on experience

Qualifications
2+ years of significant patent litigation experience in U.S. District Court and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board
Experience conducting factual and legal research and participating in case strategy development
Strong writing and analytical skills applied to pleadings, motions, and briefs
Comfort appearing in court, taking or defending depositions, and working directly with clients and opposing counsel
Undergraduate or masters degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, and or physics
Experience practicing within the intellectual property group of a comparable law firm
Strong academic credentials from an accredited law school
ITC experience is a plus
 
Responsibilities
Participate in patent litigation matters involving infringement, validity, and damages issues
Draft pleadings, discovery requests and responses, motions, and claim construction briefs
Conduct factual and legal research supporting case strategy and client counseling
Participate in fact and expert discovery including depositions
Support pre trial preparation and trial proceedings in federal court and administrative forums
Collaborate with partners and associates to develop creative and effective litigation strategies
