CNC Lathe Machinist

Barberton Mancan is assisting a growing Barberton manufacturing company in hiring an experienced Manual Machinist

Schedule: MondayThursday: 6:00 AM 4:30 PM
Friday: 6:00 AM 3:00 PM
Overtime paid after 8 hours each day
No weekends!
Pay: $18$23/hour (Based on experience and skill level)
This is a temp to hire position.

Position Summary:
We are looking for a skilled Manual Machinist with experience operating manual lathes and manual grinders. Experience with Vertical Turning Lathes (VTLs) and Horizontal Boring Mills is highly preferred. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to produce quality parts while maintaining a safe work environment.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Set up and operate manual lathes, grinders, milling machines, thermal spray equipment, and other machine tools as assigned.
Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
Take precise measurements and ensure parts meet required tolerances.
Select appropriate tooling, machine settings, and machining methods for each job.
Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to maintain quality and efficiency.
Perform quality inspections and document completed work.
Maintain inventory of completed parts and identify defective products.
Perform routine machine maintenance and minor repairs.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.

Qualifications:
Experience operating manual lathes and grinders required.
Experience with VTLs and horizontal boring mills is a plus.
Strong mechanical aptitude.
Experience with machine tools or mechanical assembly.
Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, and production specifications.
Knowledge of machining safety procedures.
Basic computer skills.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Vocational training or apprenticeship preferred.

Preferred (Not Required):
Welding experience
Thermal spray experience

Training:
Candidates with a strong machining background who may not possess every preferred qualification will be considered. Additional training will be provided to develop the skills necessary for success in this role.
