Job Title: Industrial Maintenance Technician – Robotics
Job Description
This role focuses on installing, maintaining, and repairing machinery, equipment, facilities, and electrical systems in a high-volume stamping and welded assembly plant. You will work extensively with automated systems and Fanuc robots, ensuring reliable operation of production equipment and supporting continuous improvement of manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair machinery, equipment, facilities, and electrical systems in a stamping and welded assembly plant.
- Dismantle defective machines and equipment, identify root causes of failure, and install new or repaired parts to restore safe and efficient operation.
- Install and repair electrical apparatus up to 400 VAC and 800 amps, including transformers, wiring, and electrical and electronic components of machinery and equipment.
- Diagnose and repair automated machinery and equipment, with a strong focus on Fanuc robots and associated control systems.
- Perform Fanuc robot troubleshooting, including touching up robot points, moving spot welds, understanding and working with inputs/outputs (I/O), and homing robots.
- Set up, adjust, and maintain robotic spot welding operations to meet quality and production standards.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documentation to guide installation and repair work.
- Collaborate with automation and production teams to optimize equipment performance and minimize downtime.
- Follow established safety procedures and best practices when working with high-voltage electrical systems and industrial machinery.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and modifications to equipment and robotic systems in a clear and accurate manner.
Essential Skills
- Hands-on experience with Fanuc robot troubleshooting, including touching up robot points, moving spot welds, and homing robots.
- Strong understanding of robot I/O (inputs/outputs) and ability to diagnose and correct related issues.
- Proficiency in robotic spot welding processes in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Industrial maintenance experience with electrical systems, machinery, and automated equipment.
- Ability to work safely with electrical apparatus up to 400 VAC and 800 amps.
- Experience with Fanuc robots, with the majority of exposure (approximately 95%) on Fanuc platforms.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Solid understanding of automation and programmable logic controllers (PLCs).
- Practical electrical troubleshooting skills in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Ledge, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr.
