Job Description
Job Title: Logistics Technician
About the Job As a Logistics Technician, you will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks, railcars, and shipping containers. You will make sure all shipments are recorded accurately and meet the company’s quality standards. You must be comfortable working high up off the ground and working outside in different types of weather.
What You Will Do
- Move Freight: Load and unload goods from trucks and trains.
- Climb and Work at Heights: You will need to climb onto semi-trailers and railcars to do your job.
- Keep Records: Fill out logs and paperwork for every shipment that comes in or goes out.
- Check Quality: Perform simple tests on products to make sure they are correct.
- Keep the Workplace Clean: Help clean the loading bays and work areas.
- Use a Computer: Enter customer information into the system and communicate with people through email.
- Move Materials: Drive forklifts and company vehicles, like box trucks, safely.
- Follow Safety Rules: Always wear safety gear, including a hard hat, safety glasses, and steel-toed shoes. You will also use safety harnesses when working high up.
Skills and Requirements
- Physical Ability: You must be able to routinely lift 75 lbs.
- Comfort with Heights: You cannot be afraid of heights.
- Experience: It is helpful if you have worked in shipping and receiving or have experience driving a forklift.
- License: You must have a valid driver’s license.
- Basic Skills: You should be comfortable using a computer and be professional when talking to customers on the phone.
The Work Environment
- Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Conditions: You will work both indoors and outdoors. You will be exposed to all kinds of weather, as well as dust, heat, and noise.
- Dress Code: The dress code is casual, but you must wear your safety gear. The company eventually provides uniforms.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $25.00/hr.
