Job Title: Chemical Operator
Pay: $22-23/hr
Shifts: 2nd shift, Monday to Friday, 2:50 PM - 11:30 PM
3rd shift, Sunday to Thursday, 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM
Job Description
The position is responsible for setting up and operating equipment that blends, mixes, packages, and transports liquid or dry chemicals to create customer products. The role ensures the highest quality product at the lowest possible cost while meeting customer specifications and delivery requirements.
Responsibilities
- Set up, start, and run all machinery, checking all controls to adhere to operating, safety procedures, and ISO standards.
- Weigh ingredients to meet recipe specifications, insert them into machinery or ensure correct ingredients are delivered to the work area and insert pre-blended materials.
- Monitor production and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation, and troubleshoot equipment and processing issues.
- Operate machinery to mix, extrude/discharge, or handle materials according to operating procedures.
- Examine materials visually or physically to ensure conformance with established standards.
- Take samples of materials to the lab for evaluation and instructions on any batch adjustments if needed.
- Refer issues or problems to Production Lead or Production/Shift Supervisor for disposition.
- Perform all required machine cleaning.
- Complete and maintain all required system inputs/transactions and ensure data integrity.
- Document work completed as required including logs, data reports, procedures, etc.
- Participate in training, retraining, and continual improvement processes and methods.
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations and maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Skills
- Solid manufacturing experience.
- Experience in mixing paints or chemicals is a plus.
- High school diploma.
- Ability to pass compliance.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in extrusion or plastics would translate well.

Work Environment
The work environment requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling. You will frequently lift and/or move up to 55 pounds and occasionally handle up to 250 pounds. The role requires the use of safety equipment such as safety glasses, shoes, dust masks, hard hats, respirators, face shields, hearing protection, chemical suits, gloves, aprons, etc. You will be exposed to moderate noise levels, wet and/or humid conditions, dust, fumes, airborne particles, chemical dust, and risk of electric shock. The role is on the 2nd shift, Monday to Friday, 2:50 PM - 11:30 PM, or the 3rd shift, Sunday to Thursday, 11:00 PM - 7:30 AM.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Holden, MA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.65 - $23.00/hr.
