Pay: $19.00-$24.00/hour (DOE)
Schedule: Full-Time
- Monday, Wednesday, Friday: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Tuesday, Thursday: 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM
About the Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join an employer-sponsored primary care health center serving employees and their dependents. This is a great opportunity with excellent long-term growth potential, including advancement to Medical Assistant II and Senior Medical Assistant.
This role is ideal for a Medical Assistant who enjoys both direct patient care and front office responsibilities while working in a collaborative primary care environment.
Responsibilities:
- Room patients and obtain vital signs, including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, and temperature
- Accurately document patient histories, treatments, and clinical information within Epic EMR
- Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures
- Perform phlebotomy and collect laboratory specimens for testing
- Administer injections, immunizations, and point-of-care testing as directed
- Change dressings, remove sutures, apply bandages, and perform basic first aid procedures
- Assist patients with referrals and follow-up appointments
- Prepare exam rooms and maintain medical supplies, equipment, and sterilized instruments
- Support front office operations including patient check-in/check-out, insurance verification, scheduling, registration, and payment collection
- Respond to patient messages, review lab results, complete follow-up calls, and manage provider in-baskets
- Monitor inventory and assist with ordering clinic supplies
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and uphold patient confidentiality
Qualifications:
Required:
- 1-2 years of Medical Assistant experience, preferably in a family practice or primary care setting
- Comfortable performing independent blood draws (phlebotomy required)
- Experience supporting both front and back office clinical operations
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while providing exceptional patient care
Preferred:
- Medical Assistant diploma or certification (experience may be considered in lieu of certification)
- Experience using Epic EMR
