Job Title: 1st Shift Packaging Associate
Job Description

This role supports a high-volume food production line by accurately weighing, portioning, and packaging prepared food items into individual dishes. You will work in a cool, controlled environment, performing consistent, repetitive tasks while standing for the duration of your shift to help ensure that every meal meets quality and portion standards.

Responsibilities

  • Work on a food packaging production line, following established processes and safety procedures.
  • Weigh out food for each serving to ensure accurate portion sizes before packaging into dishes.
  • Fill each dish with the correct food items of the day, including various meats, pastas, rice, and different types of vegetables.
  • Perform visual inspections of food portions and packaged dishes to maintain quality and presentation standards.
  • Carry out the same packaging and inspection duties consistently throughout the entire shift in a repetitive, fast-paced environment.
  • Stand for the entire shift while performing packaging, weighing, and inspection tasks.
  • Lift up to 55 pounds as needed, including shoveling vegetables or noodles into a hopper for a portion of the shift.
  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and production floor rules, including proper use of required protective clothing and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with food production and sanitation guidelines.
Essential Skills
  • Ability to stand for the entire shift in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Ability to work required overtime hours as needed.
  • Comfort working in a cool environment ranging from approximately 34 to 53 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Capability to lift up to 55 pounds and perform physical tasks such as shoveling food products into a hopper.
  • Attention to detail to ensure accurate weighing, portioning, and visual inspection of food items.
  • Reliability and consistency in performing repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
  • Willingness to follow strict food safety, hygiene, and production floor rules.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Previous experience in packaging, visual inspection, or general labor roles is helpful.
  • Experience in a food production or manufacturing environment is an advantage.
  • Ability to work effectively in a repetitive, task-focused role.
  • Comfort wearing required protective clothing and adhering to appearance guidelines on the production floor.

Work Environment

This position is based in a food production facility with a consistently cool temperature of approximately 52–53 degrees Fahrenheit on the main production floor and about 34 degrees Fahrenheit in the weigh pack/cold room. The role requires standing for the entire shift and performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced setting. Team members must wear a hair net and smock or lab coat at all times on the production floor; individuals with beards must also wear a beard cover. No jewelry, including wedding rings, visible piercings, or fake nails, is permitted while working in the production area to maintain strict food safety and hygiene standards.
