• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,800 – $1,890 (competitive travel nurse pay)\n

• Setting: Acute Care – Oncology / Medical-Surgical (29 beds)\n
• Start Date: April 27, 2026\n
• Assignment Length: 17 weeks (through August 24, 2026)\n
• Shift: 12-hour days (6:45am – 7:15pm), every other weekend & rotating holidays\n
• Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week\n
• Scrub Color: Caribbean Blue\n
• Charting System: MEDITECH EMR (experience preferred)\n

\n\nNurse Qualifications & Certifications\n

\n
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license\n
• BLS (AHA) certification required\n
• NIHSS certification preferred\n
• ONS certification preferred for chemotherapy administration\n
• Minimum 2 years of recent oncology nursing experience (hematology/oncology or medical-surgical oncology)\n
• Experience caring for medical-surgical patients and oncology populations, including chemotherapy and symptom management\n
• Must live at least 75 miles from facility (based on driver's license)\n
• No first-time travelers; travel nurse experience preferred\n

\n\nKey Responsibilities\n

\n
• Provide high-quality nursing care to oncology and medical-surgical patients, including management of acute oncology symptoms, thrombocytopenia, neutropenia, sickle cell crisis, hematology issues, and end-of-life care\n
• Administer chemotherapy and other oncology treatments per facility policy (ONS preferred)\n
• Manage a typical patient ratio of 1:5 (occasionally 1:6) while maintaining safe staffing and patient-centered care\n
• Collaborate closely with nurse aides, charge nurses, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care\n
• Document all patient care and assessments using MEDITECH EMR\n
• Participate in unit orientation, ongoing training, and competency validation specific to oncology care\n
• Float to medical acute units as needed (rarely) and support unit operations during peak census\n
• Provide compassionate support and education to patients and families throughout the cancer care continuum\n
