About this job
Job Description
The Role
This is a hybrid position that keeps your week varied. On some days you run the front desk as our Patient Coordinator, the welcoming first point of contact for every patient. On other days you work clinically as a Medical Assistant ("loader"), moving patients through their visit and preparing them to be seen by our physician or nurse practitioner. You'll be cross-trained on both roles and must be comfortable switching between them based on the daily schedule.
If you're organized, warm with older adults, and like the mix of people-facing work and clinical workflow, this role is a great fit.
What You'll Do
Front desk / patient coordination (most days)
- Deliver warm, professional patient greetings while ensuring a smooth check-in process
- Manage incoming phone calls, messages, and scheduling
- Schedule and confirm appointments and follow-ups
- Verify insurance eligibility and benefits before visits
- Educate patients on the SpotDoc model and our Total Body Photography service
- Confidently respond to frequently asked questions and guide patients through what to expect
- Ensure the front desk and waiting area remain orderly, welcoming, and on schedule
- Collect payments and handle basic intake paperwork
Clinical / medical assistant — "loader" (some days)
- Call patients back from the waiting room and walk them through the Total Body Photography (TBP) process
- Room patients and prepare them to be seen
- Gather the history of present illness (HPI), confirm medical and skin-cancer history, and update the chart accurately
- Set up each patient and room so the provider can step in and go
- Support patient flow so the clinic stays on schedule
- Help maintain a clean, stocked, and ready clinical environment
What We're Looking For
- Friendly, patient, professional manner — especially with an older patient population
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to juggle phones, scheduling, and in person patients at the same time
- Flexibility in learning and switching between clinical and front-desk responsibilities
- Detail-oriented professional who ensures patient records are maintained with precision and accuracy
- Dependability with a team-first attitude in a small, close-knit clinic
Preferred (not required):
- Medical Assistant certification (CCMA, RMA, or CMA)
- Prior medical front-desk, scheduling, or insurance-verification experience
- Dermatology or skin-cancer experience
- Familiarity with ModMed (EMA) and/or Klara, or similar EHR/scheduling systems
- Experience taking an HPI and confirming patient histories
Schedule & Compensation
- Full-time, on-site, Monday–Friday during clinic hours
- Benefits-eligible (details discussed during the interview)
- Hourly pay: $[___]/hour, depending on experience and certification
