Vet Technician/Vet Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Veterinary Technician/Veterinary Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will support veterinarians in providing high-quality care to patients while ensuring a positive experience for clients.

Schedule: Monday-Saturday between 7:00am-7:00pm (full time hours between these days and times)

Pay: $21.15/hr

Key Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during exams, treatments, and surgical procedures.
• Obtain patient histories and record vital signs, including temperature, pulse, and respiration.
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian.
• Perform diagnostic testing, including bloodwork, urinalysis, and fecal exams.
• Prepare and maintain surgical suites, ensuring proper sterilization of instruments and equipment.
• Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures to ensure safety and proper recovery.
• Provide nursing care, including wound care, bandaging, and post-operative support.
• Educate clients on treatment plans, medications, nutrition, and preventive care.
• Assist with radiology procedures and ensure proper animal positioning.
• Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
• Safely handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments.
• Support front desk operations as needed, including scheduling and client communication.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with safety and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• 1+ years' of animal health care assisting a veterinarian, animal control or animal care experience.
• Valid Class "C" Texas Driver's License
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
