AUTOMOTIVE SERVICE LOT PORTER

Automotive Porter: Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and reliable Service Porter to join our team. The Service Porter will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and assisting with various tasks within our automotive service department. This role plays a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of our service department and maintaining a positive experience for our customers.

Responsibilities:

Vehicle Maintenance and Organization:

• Retrieve and park customer vehicles in an organized and efficient manner.
• Perform routine inspections of vehicles to ensure cleanliness, fluid levels, and general condition.
• Refuel vehicles as required and record fuel levels accurately.
• Assist in maintaining an orderly and clean service area, including organizing tools and equipment.

Customer Service:

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing prompt assistance and answering basic inquiries.
• Escort customers to their vehicles, ensuring a positive and courteous experience.
• Offer assistance with loading and unloading customer belongings or purchases from their vehicles when necessary.

Support for Service Technicians:

• Assist service technicians with moving vehicles within the service area.
• Deliver and retrieve vehicles to and from the service bays as directed by the service advisors or technicians.
• Help maintain an efficient workflow by coordinating vehicle movements between the service department and other areas as needed.

General Support:

• Perform light janitorial duties, such as sweeping, mopping, and maintaining the cleanliness of common areas.
• Assist with inventory management by organizing and stocking supplies.
• Follow established safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
• Physical stamina and ability to perform tasks that may require bending, lifting, and carrying.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience in a similar role within an automotive service department.
• Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance and operation.
• Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures within a service environment.
