Genesis Medical Center Davenport and Silvis are seeking a Locum Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon for inpatient coverage at their facilities. This opportunity involves managing orthopedic trauma cases in a hospital setting with existing support staff and resources.

Opportunity Highlights

• Orthopedic Trauma Locum Tenens position
• Coverage in Davenport and Silvis, Iowa
• Schedule: Start ASAP with 7-10 shifts per month
• Shift length: 24 hours
• On-call: Yes, inpatient only, 24-hour pager call from 7 a.m. to 7 a.m., with a 30-minute response window when on call
• Procedures: Ortho trauma coverage, no total joints required
• EMR: Cerner
• Hospital census: 230-250 patients daily
• Trauma level: III
• No outreach or telehealth

Schedule Details

• Start date: ASAP
• Shifts: 24-hour coverage, 7-10 per month
• Call duties: 24-hour on-call, including holiday shifts

Clinical Scope

• Management of inpatient orthopedic trauma cases
• Same-day add-on cases
• Coverage of trauma patients at both Davenport and Silvis campuses
• Imaging, labs, and pharmacy services available
• Supervision of advanced practice providers: No

Requirements

• MD degree
• Iowa medical license eligible
• Active Iowa license preferred
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Orthopedic Surgery
• Must have trauma experience
• Willingness to cover both facilities and be within 30 minutes of each when on call
• Call coverage credentials: Must be comfortable managing inpatient trauma cases, including paging and responding within 30 minutes

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous orthopedic trauma experience in a level III trauma center
• Familiarity with Cerner EMR
