Drivers Get Paid a minimum of $1,500 unless they drive over 2207 miles. If so, they will get reimbursed 67 cents per mile.
Overview: Safely operate tractor trailer to deliver materials in a timely manner. Perform and document pre-shift operational and Department of Transportation (“DOT”) inspections. Make minor adjustments and repairs; create Work Requests and Emergency Work Orders. Perform housekeeping activities; conduct audits to maintain cleanliness. These positions are local routes with the intention for drivers to be home every night.
Requirements (Consider the required knowledge, skills, abilities, behaviors, and/or equipment)
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience: At least one year of driving experience required. Experience driving a Pneumatic Tanker is a plus. Familiarity with electronic logs is a plus.
- Requirements: General knowledge and application of company safety rules with an emphasis on proper use of safety harness and tie-off procedures. The ability to understand and comply with DOT guidelines. Always use personal protective equipment (“PPE”) such as hardhat, safety glasses, full body harness, steel toed boots, etc.
- Skills: Basic reading, writing, and communication skills required.
- Abilities: The ability to independently solve problems and work with minimal supervision. The physical ability to work in various climates and weather conditions.
- License Requirement: Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with manual transmission endorsement required. Valid TWIC card required, or able to obtain within the first 30 days of employment.
Essential Functions
- Safely deliver products to customers.
- Load pneumatic tanker trailers.
- Perform and document pre-shift and DOT inspections of equipment and work area.
- Perform housekeeping and cleanup work area to maintain cleanliness of assigned and designated area. Perform and document housekeeping audits. Keep your areas clean and free of clutter.
- Perform and document equipment operational inspections, make minor adjustments and repairs, and write Work Requests and Emergency Work Orders as necessary.
- Work and coordinate with supervisors, crew leads, and other employees to strive for continuous improvements, safety and operational efficiency.
- Drivers will be required to operate vehicles up to 11 hours a day and work as many as 14 hours a day. The individual will be required to work up to 70 hours per week in compliance with the Federal Motor Carriers Administration.
- The physical ability to work in various climates and weather conditions. While performing duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to all types of weather conditions (rain, cold, sleet, snow, ice, and heat). Employees are required to frequently bend, kneel, reach, climb, balance, use hands and fingers to operate objects, tools or controls. Likewise, employees are required to sit for long durations and utilize their hearing for surrounding obstacles, danger areas, and equipment malfunctions. The physical ability to climb up and down ladders multiple times a shift, as well as the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
