Mercy Orthopedics requires 24 hours of companionship for surgery patients' recovery before they can drive on their own. Doesn't require any licensed healthcare assistance, but must have a current driver's license; and be able to drive the patient away from the hospital to a sitter location for the duration of the required 24 hours. I can pay $15/hour for the 24 hours, and can feed myself, but request a place to be sitted. I can drive from there, after 24 hours. I'm having hand surgery, but only on one hand at a time. May need help in the future with the other hand.
