Registered Nurse – CVICU (Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights (3x12 Hours, 19:00–07:30) | Onsite | 36 or 48 contracted hours per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a cardiovascular/cardiothoracic ICU setting at a 1:2 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Care for post-operative open heart patients including those with diagnoses such as CABG, aortic aneurysm repair, pulmonary embolism, cardiac arrest, heart failure, MODS, and sepsis
• Operate and monitor advanced equipment including CRRT, ECMO, IABP, Impella, Swan-Ganz catheters, and arterial lines
• Perform and assist with bedside procedures including tach/peg placements, surgical procedures, chest tube management, Foley insertion, and NG tube placement
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic health records
• Float within scope to other ICUs, PCU floors, ED, or PACU to care for admitted patients as needed to meet facility demands

Required Qualifications

• Active or pending RN licensure (pending license accepted at time of submission)
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications (RQI certifications not accepted)
• Ability to pass EKG testing (pass/fail format, maximum 2 attempts)
• Must be a non-local candidate residing outside a 100-mile radius with a non-local driver's license on file
• Compliance with all travel and onboarding requirements including drug screen within 30 days of start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior CVICU or CTVICU experience strongly preferred
• Familiarity with advanced monitoring and support equipment such as Hemosphere, Arctic Sun, Belmont, BairHugger, Glidescope, and Pupilometer
• Experience with Cerner charting platform
• Prior travel nursing experience is a plus
