Day to Day
This individual will split their time between the shop floor and light drafting support, contributing to both hands-on production and documentation accuracy. On the machining side, they will set up and operate CNC equipment, monitor machine performance throughout production runs, and make real-time adjustments to ensure parts meet strict quality and dimensional standards. On the drafting side, they will use AutoCAD to review, modify, and in some cases create technical drawings that support ongoing production needs. This is a fast-paced, precision-driven environment where attention to detail is non-negotiable — the parts produced here are used in defense applications, so quality and consistency are paramount. The ideal candidate is someone who takes pride in their craft, can troubleshoot issues independently, and thrives in a structured, team-oriented shop environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate and set up CNC machines (including grinders and lathes) for precision manufacturing runs
- Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and product quality
- Use precision measurement tools to verify parts meet engineering specifications and tight tolerances
- Review and modify technical drawings in AutoCAD to support production workflows
- Identify and troubleshoot machining issues in real time, escalating when necessary
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation in compliance with facility standards
- Collaborate with supervisors and team members to meet production targets and timelines
- Participate in first-shift training (approximately 3 months) before transitioning to assigned off-shift schedule
