Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Bring your expertise in special education to a fulfilling contract opportunity serving students across elementary and middle school levels. As a certified Special Education Teacher, you’ll help support and develop individualized learning experiences for students with mild to moderate needs. Multiple assignments are available, including a part-time elementary role and full-time opportunities, each offering meaningful impact and manageable caseloads.
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Valid state certification in Special Education (mild/moderate credential preferred)
- Demonstrated experience or strong interest in supporting students requiring specialized instruction
- Ability to provide differentiated instruction within inclusive or pull-out settings
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families
- Knowledge of IEP processes, progress monitoring, and case management
- Flexibility to work across different school campuses as needed
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IEPs for students with diverse learning profiles
- Deliver instruction and support in resource and/or special day class (SDC) settings
- Engage in data-driven progress monitoring for assigned students
- Collaborate actively with colleagues and related service teams
- Foster a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student growth
- Maintain accurate records and manage caseloads according to guidelines
- Ensure compliance with district, state, and federal requirements
Opportunities Available:
- 40% elementary position: 2 days/week, up to 12 students, 7.25-hour day (plus 30-min duty-free lunch), hours 7:45-3:30
- 100% elementary: split between two sites, max caseload 28, full-day schedule
- 100% RSP at middle school: 6.75-hour day, max 28 students
- Two 100% SDC positions at middle school: 6.75-hour day, max caseload 16
