Junior/Entry Level Structural CAD Technician

• Location: Hybrid/Remote work Flexible, with onsite work to be out of the Wauwatosa area offices (Work is to be onsite for 6 months, then can transition to a 3xonsite/2xWFH weekly Schedule)
• Employment Type: Full-Time/Perm/Direct Hire (This role is IMMEDIATELY available and open due to EXPANDING BUSINESS)

A growing design and engineering services organization is seeking a motivated and detail focused Entry Level Structural CAD Technician.in a role that supports experienced engineers and designers in producing technical drawings and digital models for a variety of building projects, including commercial, residential, and industrial developments.

Key Responsibilities for this role, will include:

• Convert markups, sketches, and verbal direction into clear and accurate construction drawings
• Prepare dimensioned plans using industry standard CAD software
• Assist with preparation of structural layouts such as foundations, framing plans, and sections
• Contribute to development of standard drawing details
• Set up drawing files following established standards
• Maintain consistent layer usage and file naming conventions
• Organize project documentation for easy access and reference
• Apply design changes and redlines carefully and accurately
• Ensure updates align with project requirements and maintain document integrity
• Collaborate with internal team members to align structural components with overall building designs
• Communicate effectively to clarify instructions and resolve minor issues

Ideally and appropriately experience professional will bring to the role as much of the following as possible:

Education

• Priority consideration given to those with Certification, diploma, or associate degree in drafting, engineering technology, or a related discipline.

Experience

• As this is an 'up and comer role', those with an entry-level, to those with three years of relevant experience ( OR MORE) or equivalent academic project work, will be ideally matched for the role requirements, work expectations and workload.
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD for 2D and or 3D drafting is what we are seeking.
• Exposure to Revit or other BIM tools is advantageous, but will not be core to the job.
• Basic understanding of geometry, measurements, and drafting principles
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to follow directions and meet deadlines
• Problem solving mindset with willingness to learn new tools and processes
