Job Responsibilities

Accurately dispense prescription medications to patients according to physician orders and pharmacy regulations

Review prescriptions for clinical appropriateness, potential drug interactions, allergies, and contraindications
\n - \n
Counsel patients on proper medication usage, potential side effects, storage, and adherence to therapy
\n - \n
Provide immunizations and other health screenings in compliance with state laws and pharmacy protocols
\n - \n
Manage and verify insurance claims and prior authorizations to facilitate medication access
\n - \n
Maintain accurate and complete patient medication records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA
\n - \n
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the retail pharmacy, including inventory management, ordering, and storage of pharmaceuticals
\n - \n
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as accreditation standards governing pharmacy practice
\n - \n
Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient medication therapy and resolve prescription-related issues
\n - \n
Educate pharmacy staff and technicians on policies, procedures, and best practices to maintain quality and safety standards
\n - \n
Respond to patient inquiries and provide professional advice on over-the-counter medications and general health concerns

Position Qualifications
\nMinimum Required:

A Bachelor’s of Science Degree (B.S.) or Pharm.D. in Pharmacy from an accredited college or university
\n - \n
Licensed as a Pharmacist in New York State or NYS internship permit
\n
Preferred:

One year experience as a pharmacist
