POSITION OVERVIEW
Under the guidance of the Clinic Director, the Clinical Supervisor is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient and family care in alignment with our organization's mission, vision, and values. This role involves overseeing clinical operations, managing both professional and non-professional staff, and ensuring high standards of care. The Clinical Supervisor will also play a key role in the recruitment and training of clinical personnel, while integrating clinic improvement goals across the care continuum. Additionally, this position includes daily charge reconciliation for assigned clinics, in collaboration with the Operational Supervisor, and requires regular interaction with the Clinical and Operational Clinic Directors, including the preparation of statistical analyses.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Ambulatory Clinic operations while managing staff performance to ensure smooth clinic functioning.
- Maintain high levels of patient satisfaction and exceptional customer service.
- Conduct management duties in a professional and positive manner.
- Utilize strong interpersonal skills to effectively manage and coordinate clinical staff.
- Employ effective problem-solving techniques.
- Exhibit excellent time management and prioritization abilities.
- Ensure staff accountability in executing the nursing process, including assessment, care planning, interventions, patient education, and outcome evaluation.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and supervise follow-up actions.
- Be proficient in electronic health record systems.
- Utilize Microsoft Office for report preparation and summaries as needed.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate and submitted in a timely manner.
- Participate in the recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of clinical staff, as well as performance evaluations in collaboration with Clinic Directors.
- Plan and assist in departmental training initiatives, including orientation and competency assessments.
- Ensure staff are well-trained in current services and procedures to uphold best practices.
- Assist in developing the departmental budget while maintaining fiscal compliance.
- Evaluate and coordinate training for new procedures and equipment.
- Review and adjust daily staffing levels to ensure safe and cost-effective patient care, including managing schedules to cover unexpected absences.
- Communicate with the Front Desk Supervisor to enhance patient flow and service delivery.
- Monitor medical supply levels and manage timely ordering processes.
- Conduct daily charge reconciliation for assigned clinics.
- Organize and lead monthly staff meetings in collaboration with Clinic Directors.
- Act as a liaison between clinical staff and clinic leadership.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding personnel and patient care information.
- Ensure all staff represent the organization professionally.
- Engage in strategic planning for the department and organization.
- Collaborate on the development and achievement of departmental goals and objectives.
- Participate in customer relations and mandatory education programs.
- Contribute to the formulation of departmental policies and ensure compliance with standards of practice.
- Assist in the development and implementation of departmental strategic plans as assigned.
- May be required to manage in other clinic settings based on staff and patient distribution.
- Model and uphold the organization’s mission, vision, and values.
- Must not have any governmental sanctions related to healthcare or financial practices.
- Adhere to the organization’s Corporate Compliance Program, including the Code of Conduct and relevant laws and policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education
- Must be a graduate of an accredited nursing program with current licensure in Wyoming, or possess a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field, or have 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Current certification in CPR from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required within 60 days of employment.
- Experience
- Preferred experience in an ambulatory clinic setting. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) is also preferred.
