This assignment is ideal for emergency physicians looking to supplement their existing schedule with recurring monthly shifts in a relaxed, community-focused practice environment. Providers will enjoy low patient volumes, strong advanced practice support, travel accommodations, and the opportunity to return for ongoing coverage throughout the year.

Schedule
Physician Coverage

• Days: 6:30 AM – 6:30 PM
• Nights: 5:30 PM – 6:30 AM

Advanced Practice Support

• Monday–Thursday: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM
• Friday: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM
• Saturday–Sunday: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Clinical Environment

Practice community emergency medicine within an 11-bed emergency department caring for a broad spectrum of medical and traumatic presentations. The department supports approximately 16,000 patient visits annually, providing physicians with a manageable clinical pace while maintaining the procedural diversity and decision-making autonomy that make community emergency medicine rewarding.

Patients requiring higher levels of specialty care are transferred through established regional referral pathways when appropriate.

Candidate Requirements

• Active Maine Medical License
• DEA Registration
• Board Certified or Board Eligible Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM)
• Emergency Medicine Residency Training or Equivalent Emergency Medicine Experience
• Comfortable practicing in a community emergency department
