Position Overview

This position is a substitute teacher role for kindergarten through eighth grade, supporting a classical Christian curriculum that involves a love for ancient wisdom, instilling virtue, connecting Christ to every subject, and developing world class rhetorical skills.

Reports to the Principal

Qualifications

Evidence of strong Christian faith and values and acknowledgement of the School’s Statement of Faith and Staff Leadership Covenant.Associate degree or higher education level.Evidence of knowledge of elementary curriculum.Evidence of ability to interact collaboratively with students, parents, and Administration.Evidence of excellent oral and written skills.Must pass drug test, fingerprints, and local background check.

Responsibilities

Applies lesson plans and teaches knowledge and skills to students utilizing the course of study prescribed by the approved curriculum.Maintains as fully as possible the established routines and procedures of the school and classrooms to which they are assigned.Assumes responsibility for overseeing student behavior in class and at other times during the school day as requested.Maintains appropriate student behavior at all times throughout the school day for assigned students.
