Material Handler/ General Laborer

Job Title: Material Handler Utility Operator

Job Summary:

The Material Handler Utility Operator is responsible for safely unloading finished products from the production line and transporting materials throughout the facility using a forklift or Combi lift. This position plays a critical role in supporting production and shipping operations by ensuring finished goods are properly staged, organized, and prepared for shipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate a forklift and/or Combi lift in a safe and efficient manner.
• Remove finished products from the production line and transport them to designated storage or shipping areas.
• Organize and stage finished goods in the shipping yard for outbound deliveries.
• Load, unload, move, and stack materials as required.
• Inspect equipment daily and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
• Maintain accurate inventory locations and ensure materials are properly stored.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and operational guidelines.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors, production personnel, and team members to ensure smooth workflow.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.

Qualifications:

• Previous forklift and/or Combi lift experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Work Environment:

• Work is performed both indoors and outdoors.
• Exposure to excessive, intermittent, and constant noise levels.
• Plant temperatures may reach high levels, especially during warmer months.
• Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn at all times.
• Employees must coordinate with area leadership to ensure they have the appropriate PPE for their assigned work area.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the shift.
• Ability to safely operate powered industrial equipment.
• Ability to work in varying weather conditions and plant environments.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
