Contract | Days | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite | Weekend Position

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a flex unit serving both medical-surgical (up to 6:1 ratio) and stepdown patients (up to 3:1 ratio) based on patient and hospital needs
• Titrate drips per physician orders, including heparin, insulin, anti-hypertensives, antiarrhythmics, phenobarbital, ketamine, morphine/dilaudid/fentanyl PCAs, and TPN
• Monitor and manage patients on CPAP, BiPAP, HiFlow, and ventilators (stepdown); escalate ventilator setting changes to ICU as appropriate
• Collaborate with Clinical Associates (CAs) and charge RNs; rely on remote telemetry surveillance center and central monitoring — RNs are not required to independently read telemetry strips
• Float to other floor or stepdown units as needed; agency RNs are first to float or be pulled
• Work approximately half of all recognized facility holidays as required

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in good standing
• Demonstrated experience with Epic electronic health records (EPIC experience is required)
• Ability to manage a medical-surgical assignment of up to 6 patients or a stepdown assignment of up to 3 patients
• Comfort with titrating a variety of drips per written physician orders
• Availability to work weekend shifts (position is posted as a weekend requirement)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior stepdown, PCU, or IMC nursing experience
• Familiarity with Philips telemetry monitoring equipment
• Experience caring for a diverse medical patient population with varied acuity levels
