Job Description
Pride Health is hiring a Specimen Processor to support client’s medical facility in Portland, OR 97213 this is a 3-month assignment with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity, and it's a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!
Job Title: Specimen Processor
Location: Portland, OR 97213
Duration: 3 Months
Pay Range: $18 - $19.67 Per Hour
Schedule: 3rd Shift 10pm-6:30am
Key Responsibilities
Receive, introduce, and prepare biological specimens for laboratory testing and analysis.
Open and transfer specimens into secondary containers as needed for processing.
Verify patient demographic information against submitted test requisition forms.
Enter patient and specimen information into computer systems for tracking and documentation purposes.
Maintain productivity targets and quality standards to ensure accurate and timely results.
Unpack incoming specimens and route them to designated laboratory staging areas.
Package and ship specimens to appropriate testing facilities when required.
Properly prepare, label, and store excess specimen samples.
Identify, resolve, and document specimen-related issues or discrepancies.
Safely handle and dispose of medical and chemical waste according to established procedures.
Follow all environmental health and safety guidelines and laboratory policies.
Operate automated laboratory equipment and instrumentation under supervision when applicable
Qualifications:
A High School Diploma or GED is required.
1-5 years relevant experience required.
