REQUIRED PROCEDURES

• Required:
  • Low risk pregnancy
    
  • High risk pregnancy
    
  • FHR interpretation - NST/CST/FSE
    
  • OB Ultrasounds - Performance of, interpretation
    
  • Level I/Screening (viability)
    
  • Routine delivery (Vaginal, Decision-making for c-section)
    
  • Complicated delivery (C-section, Breech, Multiple births, Abruptions)
    
  • Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations
    
  • Office/minor gynecology (IUD, Cystoscopy, Colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP, etc.)
    
  • Surgical gynecology (Open, Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor only (tubal ligation, LOA's, chronal tubation), Operative/major (includes diagnostic) (ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOA's))
    

JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Board: Board Eligible (BE)
  
• Licenses: Licensed in NC; NC Medicaid Enrollment required
  
• Certifications: ACLS, Intermediate Fetal Monitoring
  
• Fellowship: Preferred
  

Duties & Responsibilities

• Provide call coverage for Obstetrics & Gynecology at assigned hospital location (Haywood or Harris), including 24/7 beeper call with 30-minute response time.
  
• Manage inpatient admissions (average 4 per day), perform hospital rounds, and handle phone consults (0-3 per shift).
  
• Perform required obstetric and gynecologic procedures including routine and complicated deliveries, c-sections, repairs, and minor/major surgical gynecology.
  
• Ensure accurate documentation in McKesson and Athena EMR systems.
  
• Collaborate with hospital support staff (RNs, MAs, CNM) to provide comprehensive patient care and maintain patient safety.
