Position Overview
One of our Partners on Martha’s Vineyard is seeking a Board-Certified Emergency Medicine Physician for a highly desirable locum tenens opportunity covering evening and night shifts at a community-focused Critical Access Hospital.
This assignment offers:
- Approximately 10–13 shifts per month
- Primarily night coverage
- Epic EMR
- Hospital-provided housing
- Ferry transportation covered
- Lower-volume Emergency Department
- Scenic coastal New England practice setting
- Strong nursing and operational support
Providers will work in a collaborative Emergency Department treating a broad patient population in a true community Emergency Medicine environment. Experience in rural, critical access, or independent Emergency Department settings is highly valued.
Provider Pay Ranking: Competitive New England Emergency Medicine locum compensation while remaining compliant with Mass General Brigham MSP margin requirements.
Assignment Highlights
- Critical Access Emergency Department

- 25-bed Emergency Department
- Approximately 14% pediatric volume

Job Responsibilities
- Provide Emergency Medicine coverage in a Critical Access Hospital ED
- Evaluate and treat patients across all age groups
- Manage emergency medical presentations independently
- Perform standard Emergency Medicine procedures
- Coordinate transfers when specialty services are required
- Document patient encounters within Epic EMR
- Collaborate with ED nursing staff and hospital administration
- Maintain efficient patient throughput and quality care standards
