Travel RN – Medical Telemetry (Nights)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 or 48 Guaranteed Hours Per Week | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to perform assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care for all age groups
• Monitor and coordinate patient care activities with ancillary departments to optimize patient outcomes and comfort
• Evaluate the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers and maintain professional accountability
• Coordinate patient care in conjunction with other departments while maintaining patient rights and confidentiality
• Perform drug titration and manage telemetry monitoring for medical and medical-telemetry patients, including those with developmental delays
• Float on a rotational basis as required; orient on day shift prior to beginning night shift schedule

Required Qualifications

• Current RN license meeting eligibility requirements for licensure in the state of Missouri, or currently licensed in Missouri
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient telemetry experience
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) only
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required prior to start date
• Demonstrated experience and competence in drug titration
• Flu vaccination or approved exemption required November 1 – April 1; declinations are not accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with EPIC electronic medical records system
• Familiarity with telemetry equipment, IV pumps, tube feeding pumps, and lift equipment
• Determined, decisive, and flexible personality well-suited to a fast-paced inpatient environment
