As a Psychological Services Specialist with the Department of Human Services (DHS), you will help patients build the skills they need to move forward in life. This position provides direct psychological services to individuals with serious and persistent mental illness and supports their progress toward recovery. As a Psychological Services Specialist, DHS, you will perform the following duties:
- Individual Treatment: Deliver psychological treatment services that follow best practice guidelines and departmental standards
- Group Instruction: Lead psychoeducational groups that teach skills for managing psychiatric symptoms and supporting recovery
- Clinical Assessment: Conduct assessments involving intelligence, cognitive abilities, personality factors, neuropsychological needs, functional levels, and psychological conditions
- Behavioral Planning: Develop and carry out behavioral programs that support patients in meeting treatment goals
- Patient Evaluation: Evaluate newly admitted and annually reviewed patients to help the interdisciplinary team form treatment plans
- Family Consultation: Work with family members and community partners to identify supports for successful living in less restrictive environments

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute (12:00 PM - 12:30 PM) lunch.
- Overtime and travel as operationally necessary
- Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- A master's degree in a behavioral science, counseling education, rehabilitation, human development or a closely related field.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree.

- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
