Job Title: CNC Machine Operator
Job Description
This position operates CNC milling equipment in a high-production environment, focusing on safe, accurate, and efficient machining of metal parts. You will work primarily on a Mazak CNC mill with a Mazatrol controller, handling part loading and unloading, basic troubleshooting, and quality checks while supporting leads who perform machine setups and programming.
Responsibilities
- Operate a Mazak CNC mill using a Mazatrol controller to produce high-quality metal parts.
- Load and unload parts into the CNC machine in a safe and efficient manner.
- Follow work orders closely to complete jobs according to specifications and schedules.
- Use hand and power tools to assist with machine-related tasks and basic setup support as directed by leads.
- Read and interpret blueprints and schematics to understand part requirements and machining details.
- Use measuring devices such as calipers and micrometers to verify part dimensions and ensure quality.
- Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot basic issues throughout the day, escalating more complex problems as needed.
- Perform visual and dimensional inspections to confirm parts meet specifications.
- Clean parts using an air gun and ensure finished pieces are free from debris and defects.
- Transfer raw materials, in-process parts, and finished parts to the correct bins or designated areas.
- Lift and move materials and parts up to 50 lbs as part of daily work.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area in and around the machine.
- Follow all safety procedures and production guidelines while working in the open production environment.
Essential Skills
- At least 1 year of experience operating CNC machining equipment.
- At least 1 year of experience reading blueprints or schematics.
- Hands-on experience operating CNC mills in a production environment.
- Ability to work with Mazak CNC machines and Mazatrol controllers or similar CNC controls.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting mechanical blueprints.
- Ability to use measuring devices such as calipers and micrometers for part inspection.
- Capability to perform basic troubleshooting on CNC machines during production.
- Comfort with using hand and power tools to support machining and setup tasks.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly and perform physically active work.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, quality parts.
- Ability to follow work orders, instructions, and safety procedures consistently.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with Mazak CNC mills is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with Haas equipment and controls is a plus.
- Experience in general machining, including mills and lathes, is advantageous.
- Experience with manual machining and inspection processes is a plus.
- Exposure to CNC programming or setup support is beneficial.
- Prior work in a fabrication or general production environment is helpful.
- Ability to adapt and cross-train on different machines or processes.
- Strong work ethic and reliability in a production setting.

Work Environment
The role is based in an open production environment working directly with metal parts, so hands will get dirty and the work is hands-on and active. You will operate CNC mills and related equipment, use hand and power tools, and work with measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers. Available schedules include a first shift, Monday–Thursday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and a second shift, Monday–Thursday from 3:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m. The environment emphasizes safety, productivity, and teamwork while providing consistent hours in a structured production setting.

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.75/hr.
