• Valid Maine DOE State Licensure (282—conditional credentials are considered)
• Current CHRC (Maine DOE Background Check)

• Excellent communication and classroom management skills
• Compassionate approach for supporting students with diverse learning needs

Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging instruction to students in Adaptive Life Skills classrooms at the elementary and middle school levels
• Develop, implement, and track progress on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in alignment with state and district requirements
• Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies based on each student’s learning profile
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive environment that encourages growth and independence
• Collaborate with related service providers, case managers, and families for cohesive student support
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing professional development
• Uphold best practices in special education and comply with all relevant policies and regulations
