Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications:
- Valid Maine DOE State Licensure (282—conditional credentials are considered)
- Current CHRC (Maine DOE Background Check)
- Previous experience in special education or Adaptive Life Skills, especially in school settings, is highly valued
- Strong collaboration abilities, working effectively with staff, students, and families
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills
- Compassionate approach for supporting students with diverse learning needs
Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging instruction to students in Adaptive Life Skills classrooms at the elementary and middle school levels
- Develop, implement, and track progress on Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in alignment with state and district requirements
- Adapt curriculum and teaching strategies based on each student’s learning profile
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and positive environment that encourages growth and independence
- Collaborate with related service providers, case managers, and families for cohesive student support
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in IEP meetings, parent conferences, and ongoing professional development
- Uphold best practices in special education and comply with all relevant policies and regulations
