Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications:

  • Current Maine DOE State Licensure (282 or conditional)
  • CHRC clearance (Maine DOE Background Check)
  • Experience in special education settings preferred
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Adaptability and commitment to supporting diverse student needs

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver individualized and group instruction in Adaptive Life Skills classrooms for middle and elementary school students
  • Develop and implement IEPs tailored to student goals and abilities
  • Collaborate closely with general education teachers, specialists, and parents/guardians
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere
  • Monitor student progress, documenting and reporting as required
  • Guide and support paraprofessionals, helping to shape a well-coordinated teaching environment
  • Participate in team meetings, IEP reviews, and ongoing professional development opportunities
