Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in School Psychology, active School Psychologist license and minimum 1+ years School Psychologist experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Step into a rewarding role supporting student well-being across multiple educational settings as a district-wide school psychologist. This contract position offers the chance to work with students from kindergarten through twelfth grade within four buildings, providing essential support throughout the academic year. The schedule runs from late August to mid-June, requiring a weekly commitment of 35 to 37.5 hours.
Essential Qualifications:
- Hold a valid Vermont School Psychologist Certificate
- Background in school psychology, with demonstrated experience working with K-12 populations
- Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and administrative staff
- Strong skills in assessment, intervention, and crisis management
- Commitment to fostering inclusive, supportive educational environments
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities
- Aptitude for adapting to different school cultures and student needs
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct psychological and educational assessments for students across four district buildings
- Develop and implement intervention strategies aligned with best practices and district goals
- Collaborate with educators and parents to identify and address learning and behavioral challenges
- Support crisis intervention efforts as needed
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and develop individualized plans
- Maintain detailed records and ensure compliance with state and federal requirements
- Offer consultation and support to staff on matters concerning student mental health and well-being
