Job Description
Degree in Physical Therapy, active Physical Therapist license and 1+ year of Physical Therapy experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Bring your passion for physical therapy to an engaging contract role serving K-12 students across four schools. This part-time opportunity offers the chance to collaborate with educators and make a major impact on student wellbeing throughout the district.
As a district-wide physical therapist, you’ll enjoy working across both elementary and secondary settings, engaging with students of varying ages and abilities. With a set schedule of two days per week from late August through mid-June, you’ll provide essential services and support for student success and physical function.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Physical Therapist certificate for Vermont
- Previous experience in a school or pediatric setting preferred
- Strong understanding of IEP development and effective goal-setting
- Comfort working across various school environments, grades K-12
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with teachers, families, and support staff
- Organizational abilities to manage a caseload across multiple buildings
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver skilled PT services to students as part of their individualized education plans
- Collaborate with other therapists, special education staff, and teaching teams district-wide
- Conduct assessments, develop treatment plans, and document progress
- Guide teachers in adapting class activities to foster student participation
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations
- Travel between four district buildings as needed during assigned days
