Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active ME DOE State Licensure—282 (conditional licensure applicants will be considered)
• Completed CHRC (Maine DOE Background Check)
• Previous experience in special education or adaptive life skills preferred
• Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
• Demonstrated commitment to inclusive education and positive student outcomes
• Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction and support to students with diverse abilities in Adaptive Life Skills classrooms
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Modify curriculum and instructional strategies to meet unique student needs
• Monitor student progress and maintain clear, ongoing documentation
• Partner with general education teachers, specialists, and families to foster a collaborative educational environment
• Support students in building life, communication, and social skills
• Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations
